Fan Club

I dedicate this page to the official Catweazle Fan Club in England!
I'd like to introduce that Fan Club especially to the German fans and all the fans outside England.
In addition to that I have added a small picture report on the Fan Club meeting 2006, and further down you'll find my autograph collection.

I myself joined the Fan Club in 2006.
Meanwhile the Club has more than 1000 members, from all over the world!

A special feature of the Catweazle Fan Club is that you really only have to pay one single fee to become a club member. This means that there are no obligations whatsoever and no re-occuring fees, as is the case with most fan clubs.

About the Fan Club

The Catweazle Fan Club was founded in England in 2002 by Gary Bowers and Carol Barnes, two absolute Catweazle fans!
The story of the creation of the Fan Club can be read on the website of the Fan Club:

The Fan Club: "How it all started"

In addition to that, under "Articles" here on my website a detailed article of the "Liverpool Daily Post" on the Club can be found:

"Under Catweazle's spell"

How do you become a member of the Fan Club?
That is very easy: you fill in the membership form and pay one sum of £ 15,- via Paypal.
Immediately, you'll be sent your membership card and a nice "Membership Pack".

Fan Club Meeting "Hexwood" 2006

(This is my membership card/entrance ticket to the summer fete 2006.)

In June 2006 I personally flew over to England for the first time to take part in the annual Catweazle meeting on June 17th, 2006.
It was a marvellous sunny day and a totally exciting one, too!

The Fan Club presents a few pictures from the meetings on one page of its website:

Hexwood

10:30 Uhr: A number of fans met at the pub "The Queens Head" in order to go by car from there to nearby East Horsley and have a look at some of the locations where the series was shot.
Carol, one of the club's heads, was so kind as to take me in her car.

This is the well-known archway from the episode "Thw witching hour". After Edward and Catweazle have pinched some hair there they ride through here on the bike. It has hardly changed throughout the years.

This is it - Home Farm, in the series called "Hexwood" Farm the home of the Bennets. It has not changed much, either.

The Village Fete was situated behind the farmhouse on a large meadow. There were games, food and drink, and in the midst of all that cheerful hustle and bustle the Fan Club had put up its tent, just like every year.
Here the fans queued up for autographs.

From left to right: Richard Carpenter, Robin Davies and Geoffrey Bayldon.

Then we drove to some terraced houses in East Horsley. Those are the houses with the barber shop, were some of the episodes were shot, among others the episode called "The witching hour". The barber shop exists up to today, by the way. (Further information about this and other locations can be found here on my website at "Locations".)

Then we went to nearby "Home Farm" at East Clandon. Here every year in summer the so-called "Village Fete" takes place, the hosts of which are the owners of "Home Farm".

The shed "The Barn" is also part of that farm. Let's remember: There it was that Edward met Catweazle for the first time.

Richard Carpenter on the left and Robin Davies on the right are signing autographs.
Here Richard Carpenter is signing a Catweazle Annual.

This is me (left), together with Carol (right), one Fan Club leader.

The ones of you who would also like to go to England once and take part in a Catweazle meeting can find a detailed description of the places and helpful links for your planning of the trip on the page "Locations" here on my website.

Autographs

This is my little autograph collection.
By clicking on the little pictures you can open a larger image in a pop-up window.

1.     2.     3.     4.     5.

Explanations of the pictures:

1.: The first picture shows an autograph which I bought at Ebay in 2006.

2.: The second picture is a print, not a real autograph. I was given this laminated picture when I became a member of the Fan Club.

3.: The third picture shows a picture from the Catweazle Annual 1971. I was given that autograph by Geoffrey Bayldon personally at the fan meeting 2006.

4.: The picture next to that is also from the Catweazle Annual 1971. I was given that personally by Robin Davies at the fan meeting of 2006.

5.: The last picture shows Richard Carpenter's signature. I had my German Catweazle Book signed by him at the Fan meeting.
